Entry for April 5, 2008
Around Western Pennsylvania it is best to wait till the forsythia blooms before being the spring ritual of rose bush pruning. We are almost there in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. I will begin pruning tomorrow. If you need help with pruning or want an on-hands demonstration, come out to the Renziehausen Rose Garden the next two Sundays (April 13 and 20) for our annual pruning demonstrations. Bring your pruners and gloves. The best way to learn is to do and you can do as much as you wish on the gardens hundreds of bushes. Need directions, go to the Renzie Park Page of our website. In addition to free pruning lesions from Master Rosarians you will be invited to joins the refreshment table. There you can ask more questions and look at some of the new miniature roses Ralph has for sale from Nor’ East Miniature Roses.
