Entry for March 16, 2008
Today, Sunday March 16, 2008, is the last day of the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show. Our hard working volunteers manned the Society’s booth during the show hours. My wife and I did our shift yesterday, during the St. Patrick’s Day parade. We had lots of questions about roses. We are trying to get new members to join our ranks but that is getting harder each year. But we keep trying. Two weeks from now our meetings for the season begin with the first at the Mt. Lebanon Library located at the corner of Washington Road and Castle Shannon Blvd. in Mt. Lebanon. We will be talking about using new roses in the landscape design. We will have access to new technology to make the presentations more meaningful. We now have a LCD projector and PowerPoint software. The library has WiFi computer hook-up so we will also give a demo of the website. If you are reading this you probably know how to use the website. But if you have a friend who wants to become more comfortable with computers let them know about this meeting. Many of our members have commented to the Membership Committee that they would like some of the meeting in locations outside of Lawrenceville. Whether or not we continue to do this will depend largely on how many people attend this experimental location change. So come out! We also serve FOOD. 2008-03-16 19:19:05 GMT
